| The office of Martha Schwartz, Inc. was retained to provide urban design and planning serivices in connection with the redevelopment of a series of World War II German Army buildings. The City of Detmold wishes to recycle the site as a mixed use development making use of those buildings that are still suitable for housing. The proposed urban plan creates two crossing, linear axes that connect the site's quadrants and provide predestrian access. These axes are strengthened visually with strong paving patterns and repeating landscape motifs.
